I'm so happy you took an interest in learning more about Small Book of Plans! My name is Jessica and a little bit about me: I was born in Southern Germany but grew up in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, PA. I love traveling and learning about new cultures, which is why I cherish the four years I spent attending college outside of NYC. I'd like to think I'm a home chef and an aspiring gardener, and a nature admirer on a mission to inspire others to be more creative, curious, and caring for the world around them. Outside of this blog, I also run a digital magazine called Rooted and Wild (R&W) that focuses on celebrating outdoor lifestyles, sustainability, and making both accessible to all.

The need for adventure lies deep within me and I am always on the hunt for something new to learn, see, and do. That's why when I was around 12-years-old, I started keeping track of my bucket list in a journal I called Small Book of Plans. I wrote down everything I wanted to do from places to visit, books to read, skills to learn, and everything in between. And I still use the journal to this day! This blog has become an extension of my journal as a way to keep hold of memories of the things I have seen, done, and still aspire to complete. And hopefully, in some way, it becomes a helpful resource for someone else as well.

Over the past few years, I have built more confidence to work on my passions for traveling, cooking, and exploring the great outdoors. I became intrigued with the connection between humans and nature and invested in being more sustainable. At first, I thought my interests would be conflicting but then I noticed a merger within local traveling, farm-to-table cooking, and my love for hiking. And thus, the purpose of this blog expanded.

And it probably will keep on expanding.
If there is anything to take away from "Small Book of Plans", it's that there is always something new to discover wherever you are. Keep on doing you, keep on being curious.
